With today being the day of love, whats better than some fresh off the runway Valentine’s Day inspiration from NYFW. Red is always a powerful, kick-ass color that radiates when walking down the runway.

Nicky Zimmermann designer of Australian brand Zimmermann, drew inspiration from an old picture of her mom and dad in the late 1950’s. I fell in love when I watched this collection of structured silks, black bow-tie chokers, off the should sweaters, white and black lace roses, fluffy mohair, menswear silhouettes, that Gothic lip and this amazing red and camel coat paired with a fish-net like skirt. This is Zimmermann’s third show at NYFW and I can’t imagine her not walking down the runway here. I feel like this Fall/Winter collection has romanticism written all over it and simply perfect for today.

If there was one girl who every girl was envious of on Valentine’s Day, Victoria Beckham would be the one. As her beautiful husband and four kids sat front row during her Fall/Winter 2014 runway show, I feel as if every one there felt the presence of love and it really showed in her collection. I’m always extremely intrigued to see Victoria Beckham’s show. I don’t know if it’s because she always looks impeccable or if it’s just the way she carries herself in ever situation. This collection is pure bliss with simple silhouettes, fur-trimmed dresses, sharp necklines, perfectly hemmed ruffles, a sparkle midi skirt and this all white jumper with a splash of geometric color. I don’t think I can say it enough  but I love all white and I find white to be the perfectly complementary color for Valentine’s Day (in this case main color 🙂 ).

Tibi’s designer Amy Smilovic created the ultimate cuddle worthy collection for her Fall/Winter line. I feel like she really gave us what every woman wants when its cold outside with chunky knits, big fringed scarves, over-sized coats, light washed blue jeans, pajama like jumpers, casual midi skirts, the always amazing mule heels and with all the blue hues she threw in this all red look that really gave the collection that “umph”.

Kaelen Haworth went for the vision of femininity with this collection. From the light pink and red to the maroon and gray this collection screams Valentine’s Day. Or just a night out with friends. Even with all the light pink I felt like this collection had a bit of an edge to it with the fur-trimmed collars, high slit skirts, cropped tops, and black mesh pieces. I’m in love with this look above. The zippers on the skirt can be altered and that coat is truly beyond high fashion attire.

Helmut Lang gave us effortless fashion. Multi-ply knits, teddy bear fabrics, and fluffy mohair that you never want to take off. This husband and wife duo created tailored separates, airy cowl-neck sweaters, over-sized coats whether it be structured or big and fluffy, and fabrics with graphic photo-prints of the surface of Mars giving us that Hot Topic vibe. This all red over-sized sweater paired with the matching skirt is something you probably won’t see much of but I am loving this nonchalant feel.

I hope everyone has an amazing Valentine’s Day filled with lots of chocolate and good wine (!).
