With the grand opening of The Row’s first flagship, I’d say this is a great start to a beautiful Tuesday. Founders Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen refer to the store as “a hidden gem”. Giving the feeling of tranquility with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the courtyard swimming pool is exactly what you would expect on Melrose Place. These California girls know where their roots started so it was no surprise when the Sally Hershberger and John Frieda space (which they had been going to since they were 10 years old) became available; they were quick to jump on it.

The importance of representing Los Angeles was number one. With the fresh California mindset, MKA wanted this space to be like a home. Adding home like furniture with woven leather chairs, coffee tables, a dining table, antiques and working with LA based designers, it quickly became the ultimate California pad.

The store is divided into three areas, the west and east galleries and a smaller space in the front referred as the library. The west gallery is set up as a dining room while the east gallery is set up as a living room. The immaculately placed clothes hang as if being a part of the space.

As The Row grows Mary-Kate and Ashley are making sure to do everything right the first time. Getting into shoes starting next year and hopefully jumping into men’s, MKA is making this a lifestyle brand one step at a time. With the nurture and patience they have for The Row, this flagship store is just the first of many milestones’ we’ll see from them.
